Project: Cielo Vista Project (the “Project”) – Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR No. 615)
Project Location: The approximately 84-acre site is located north of Via Del Agua and east of San Antonio Road within unincorporated Orange County and within the City of Yorba Linda Sphere of Influence (APN # 351-031-04, 351-031-05, and 351-031-17). The nearest cross streets are Yorba Linda Boulevard and Via Del Agua. The majority of the site is vacant, with the exception of several operational and abandoned oil wells and various dirt roads and trails which traverse the site.

I am shocked and disappointed that this project is still being considered. During the Fires in Yorba Linda of November 2008. It was complete chaos helping to get people out. In my opinion, if you add even one more home, it will be and irreparable risk of death or serious bodily injury in an evacuation situation. The natural wildlife in the area has just begun to repopulate. We are seeing the deer come back. There is a family of six deer which come down the hill every am and pm. We have not seen this in years. In my opinion environmental impact study alone should have stopped this project. The short one paragraph environmental impact statement included in the report, in my opinion is just boiler plate statement which is void of any environmental impact analysis. The schools are already overcrowded. The traffic is the worse I have experienced. The city has already been over built. In my opinion, this project will diminish the experience of living in Yorba Linda “The land of gracious living” and will be tipping point of making the city just another over crowded suburb with no thought of long term impacts to the citizens, children and wildlife in the area.
