Well, we finally learned where the City Council stood on Esperanza Hills at tonight’s meeting. Mayor Hernandez and Councilmembers Young and Huang support providing access to a private development through City land. The City Attorney says NONE of the laws we’ve brought up apply. And apparently Measure B doesn’t apply because the land itself isn’t being developed. The Council gave instruction to staff to draft a letter for consideration at the May 19th City Council meeting. You’d better mark your calendar and get there early—this will be a packed meeting.
