Stricter building codes, boxed eaves, ember proof vents — those all make houses safer. We agree. Why is it so hard to understand that adding more people, ALL evacuating during the next fire, makes it harder for the rest of us to leave safely? Scores of residents could have burned to death in their cars during the Freeway Fire and yet, we are being told Esperanza Hills makes us safer. Nope, we don’t buy it. Do you?
