Results of Yesterday’s Planning Commission Meeting

Many thanks to all Red Shirts that showed up yesterday at the County Planning Commission meeting yesterday.

We came, we spoke and most of the Planning Commission members had some really great questions and concerns on the Esperanza Hills’ attempt to circumvent CEQA by adding a new massive bridge!  Our size estimate of the bridge was confirmed by the County at over 500 feet long, 60 feet wide and over 150 feet high!  Our team made great speeches, with our artist’s conception of the bridge, during public comment and several citizens got up and spoke from the heart! If you haven’t yet had a chance to review they are trying to do please go to this link:  Download the documents from the County website.

At the meeting, after taking public testimony and hearing from many others knowledgeable about CEQA, including our attorney, Kevin Johnson, the  Commissioners did not take any action and continued the matter until November 9, at 1:30 p.m., at which time they may again:

  • Consider the adequacy of Revised FEIR 616;
  • Recommend Board approval of a General Plan Amendment; and,
  • Recommend Board approval of a Zone Change.

Stay tuned for updates.  We will confirm whether or not the November 2 meeting gets pushed as well. More on everything later!
